Congratulations to Ridgewood High School winners in our "Letters From History" Writing Contest!
Each year, Ridgewood High School students are invited to write a one-page letter by choosing one of the artifacts from our annual exhibit.
This year students visted the exhibit, "The Thread of Life—Exploring the Fabric of Family Over the Centuries Through Fashion and Style." Students are asked to
write from the point of view of a fictionalized person to a friend or relative in Ridgewood. The Ridgewood Historical Society board members choose winners
based on their ability to relate common human experiences in the context of a specific historical moment.
Thank you to the RHS History Department and to all RHS students who participated in this year's "Letters From History" contest.
Congratulations to first place winner, Amelia Safai, who read her letter at the BOE meeting and was awarded the $100 cash prize!
We also congratulate the talented runners up who were presented with certificates by the Ridgewood Historical Society's high school liaison, Daniel Greenman:
